Breast Lift
About
Many women experience sagging or changes in breast shape due to aging, pregnancy, breastfeeding, gravity, genetics, and weight fluctuations. If you want to enhance the shape and position of your breasts without implants, a breast lift may be the right option for you. As with any procedure, individual results may vary.
A breast lift, or mastopexy, restores a more youthful, uplifted appearance by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding breast tissue. While this procedure reshapes and firms the breasts, it does not significantly increase their size or create fullness in the upper portion.
If you desire added volume, explore our breast augmentation options.
For those concerned about enlarged areolas, a breast lift can also reduce their size, creating a more balanced and proportionate appearance.
How It Works
Several incisions are made, depending upon the goals of the surgery and the recommendations of the surgeon. A new, improved contour is created by removing the excess skin and shaping and tightening the surrounding breast tissue. The result is a rejuvenated, shapelier breast.
Benefits
A breast lift can reduce the size of enlarged areolas. It also corrects sagging breasts and drooping nipples, repositioning the areolas to restore a more youthful, natural shape. It can be used in conjunction with a breast enlargement if a fuller profile is desired. The surgery chosen will depend upon the goals of the surgery, the patient’s desired outcome, and the doctor’s recommendations.
Complications
As with any surgery, there are risks. Dr. Arrington will discuss the potential for complications and risks based on your medical history and the specific procedure you’ll be undergoing. Breast lifts are generally considered quite safe.
